David Cortright is president of the Fourth Freedom Forum and visiting fellow at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He has authored several books including Peace Works: The Citizen's Role in Ending the Cold War (1993), and has coedited other works, including, with George A. Lopez, Economic Sanctions: Panacea or Peacebuilding in a Post-Cold War World? (1995). His most recent scholarly articles appear in The Fletcher Forum, The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Peace Review, and Peace and Change.
